Life Collection — Flat minting price

We’ve now gone with the flat minting price model on the Life Collection

On ETH, the minting price has been flattened to 0.2 ETH each.

Together with our soon to drop GOAL Reward, which most of the minters will receive, the minting price actually equals to 0.1 ETH each.

Unlike other projects, which people can claim predefined NFTs within a limited collection of artworks, the Life Collection requires users to create their own. The bar of entry is much higher as both knowledge and creativity are needed to create an awesome BIO.

We’re delighted to see the mints are getting better and better as time goes by and more people are trying to understand what the Life Collection is all about.

The Life Collection is still in its humble early stages towards the full collection of the 10,000 BIOs needed to form the Super Organism on the Ethereum Blockchain.

To us, the most important thing is to inspire people to fall in love Conway’s Game of Life, and own a great BIO created or chosen by themselves on the blockchain, while also being able to interact with it in many different ways.

Why not price it low, instead of choosing to use the reward back approach?

The GOAL reward system

The GOAL reward is used to motivate and incentivise good BIO creations.

It’s expected that some users take the Life Collection as another static artwork collection, so that they treat the first frame of the BIO as a doodle canvas. This isn’t what essence of Game of Life is about. Therefore, we introduced a reward system in place to motivate people into looking more at the cell evolution rules, and create BIOs with natural and/or interesting life journeys.

Most of the BIOs are eligible for full reward, which is half of the minting cost. At current minting price, the reward of each eligible BIO can be redeemed to 0.1 ETH on Ethereum and 0.5 BNB on Binance Smart Chain.

There are 3 tiers of rewards for participation for minted BIOs

Full rewards
Half rewards
No rewards

Embrace list: Full rewards

Use the ‘Mine’ button feature to mine and mint an organic BIO
Use the ‘Ideas’ index to select and mint an organic BIO
Use BIO Design Lab to mint a long living organic BIO (Note: Avoid list)

Avoid list: Half or zero rewards

Avoid recognisable first frames (e.g. logos, symbols, objects, faces)
Avoid BIOs that live less than 5 GENs (BIOs from Ideas index exempted)
Avoid sensitive first frames (e.g. genitalia, hate speech or symbols)

GOAL Rewards will also be randomly dropped as rewards to BIO Minters or BIO Owners of ‘Great BIOs’. For example, very long life generation BIOs, unique loop cycles, especially new Game of Life primitive inventions that haven’t been discovered before.

GOAL drop is coming soon.

More detailed tokenomics will be released before the drop. Minters of BIOs will be able to view GOAL balance on the GOAL Dashboard.

GOAL holders will be able to redeem ETH and BNB locked in the reward vault on the GOAL dashboard. They can also choose to hold the GOAL token longer to share more fund that will be locked to the GOAL rewards vault in the future.
